The Kahurangi Estate story

Welcome to Kahurangi Estate

Kahurangi Estate is a New Zealand family owned boutique vineyard specialising in hand-made wines. The vineyard was first established in the early 1970’s and has some of the oldest commercial vines in the South Island. The Day family purchased the vineyard in 1998 and changed the name to Kahurangi Estate

FEATURE WINE ~ Dolcetto 2012

Picked from a single vineyard on the Waimea Plains with intensive crop management. Lovely bright red hues are comlimented with a fragrant nose and a palate of rich cassis and raspberry. A delicate, dry structure on the finish.

Exciting times ahead, very soon we will be going live with our brand new website!
Kahurangi Estate along with many other local producers in the Moutere area have come together to form Moutere Artisans, a collective of local Moutere businesses to showcase to you what the beautiful Moutere region has on offer and celebrate what a great destination it is to visit and spend time exploring. This Labour weekend marks the start of the Moutere Artisans Trail, we will be marking this great occasion by opening up our brand new 2010 Vintage Reserve Blanc de Blancs,  which will be available to taste at our Cellar Door. We are just one of many great producers to visit, please visit  www.moutereartisans.co.nz  for further information about the Trail this Labour weekend.  We will be open all Labour Weekend (including Labour Day!), if you wish to come in for lunch, please phone 03 5432 983 to make a reservation, we do expect the region to be humming with many visitors, booking in for lunch is highly recommended.
