Kahurangi entered 12 wines into the Spiegelau International Wine Competition and received 12 medals, our best result ever. We are the top exhibitor from Nelson with two Gold and one Trophy. Gold for the 2011 Syrah, a great reslut for our first vintage! The Syrah is sold exclusively through this website and the Cellar Door. Williams and Humbert 12 YO Pedro Ximenez - Won Gold and Won the Trophy in its class. 18th March marked the start of harvest, another stressful vintage and a few suprises to keep us on our toes, but we are looking forward to see the benefits of some good quality fruit. Stand out varieties thsi vintage are - Sauvignon Blanc, pinot Gris and Chardonnay. The Montepulciano has retained its full flavour and vibrancy and we hope to see some Mt Arthur Reserve Pinot Noir with excellent quality fruit coming in from our home block vineyard.
This years long lunch was held over two days, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th. Again it was a great success. Compliments to the chef and the staff. A huge thanks to the guests who attended and created a great atmosphere for everyone involved. It was a lot of fun and we look forward to next year!
