Winemakers Notes

Vineyard - Chardonnay grapes grown on three selected vineyards in the Nelson region.

Soil - Predominantly Mendoza clone grown on Moutere Clay teamed with grapes from the Richmond Hills with well drained clay loam soils.

Vintage Conditions - It was a challenging growing season. A longer thanaverage flowering period with a cooler summer temperatures. Harvest started later than usual with careful vineyard management the fruit was looking great. Midway through vintage the region experienced several tropical storm systems, which doubled the average rainfall for this period, but our selected grapes came through in surprisingly good condition.

Harvest Date - Early April 2018

Fermentation / Maturation - 100% barrel fermentation for over 11 months in a mix of new French & American oak barriques.

Alcohol - 14.0%

Residual Sugar - 2 g/L

Total Acidity - 5.8 g/L

Cellar - At its best  now or well into 2024

Serving Suggestions - A perfect match with lobster, crayfish, scallops & prawns or simply enjoy on its own slightly chilled.
