Winemaker's Notes

Vineyard - Selected vineyards in the Moutere region of Nelson

Soil - A mix of Moutere Clay and Stony Alluvial.

 Vintage Conditions - A hot Summer provided the base for an early vintage.  Rain just prior to harvest slowed ripening down somewhat but good fruit flavours developed in the picked fruit.

Harvest Date -  April 2018

Fermentation/maturation - Hand plunged in open fermenters then aged in French oak for 8 months

Alcohol - 13.0%

Residual Sugar -   g/L

Acid -   g/L

Tasting Notes / General Comments - Bright auburn in colour, our 2018 Pinot Noir has flavours of ripe cherries with a hint of chocolate. The wine is exceptionally easy drinking with a smooth finish.

Hue -  Bright auburn

Nose - Cherries, spice

Palate - Cherries and chocolate with a hint of oak

Length - Smooth and fruit driven.

Cellar - A young, easy drinking Pinot Noir cellar for 3 years
