Winemaker's Notes
Vineyard - Our Nelson Pinot Gris was selected from four of our contract growers in the Nelson region
Soil - Predominantly from vineyards situated on ancient river beds with stony, alluvial soils.
Vintage Conditions - It was a challenging growing season. A longer than average flowering period with a cooler summer temperatures. Harvest started later than usual with careful vineyard management the fruit was looking great. Midway through vintage the region experienced several tropical storm systems, which doubled the average rainfall for this period, but our selected grapes came through in surprisingly good condition.
Harvest Date - Mid March to early April 2017
Fermentation / Maturation - 100% Stainless Steel
Alcohol - 12.5 %
Residual Sugar - 6 g/L
Total Acidity - 7.0 g/L
Cellar - 3 years
