Winemakers Notes

Vineyard - The grapes have been grown in vineyards that are part of the third generation of the Cuevas family that are based the town of Quel on the higher slopes of the Sierra de Yerga mountain range in Rioja Baja.

Grape Varieties - 85% Tempranillo and 15% Garnacha

Soil - The Tempranillo is grown in clay-like soils at 400m altitude, the Garnacha grapes are grown much higher at 800m on sandy soils.

Fermentation/maturation - The grapes are stored in a vat at chilled temperatures for several hours before controlled fermentation is started. Maceration time is limited to 10 hours to produce a Rose wine with low tannins.

Tasting Notes

Hue -Bright, strawberry red

Nose -Gentle, fruity on the nose with strawberry and cherry aromas.

Palate -A rounded, medium bodied, dry Rose quite full in flavoour with soft berry fruits aand a hint of spiciness on the finish.

Cellar - To enjoy drinking now or with in a couple of years.

Serving Suggestions -Great with white meats, pasta, pizza or seafood. Can also be enjoyed on its own on a warm summer's evening!
