Winemakers Notes

Quality - Port with indication of age (this is a blend of Ports from different years that have matured in wood and whose average age is indicated on the label after having been certified by the Portwine Institute).

Wine Region- Douro Demarcated Wine Region, situated in the North of Potugal and composed ot the Douro Valley and its tributaries.

Soil - Schistous

Alcohol - 20% Vol.

Total Acid - 3.82g/L.

Fixed Acid - 3.44g/L.

Residual Sugar - 103g/L.

Vinification / Aging - As a blend of old Ports, the 10 YO Port has been produced by different vinification methods, including the traditional vinification in “lagares” (open tanks made of granite where grapes are trodden by foot). Fermentation has been interrupted through the addition of grape brandy in order to preserve a certain degree of natural sweetness. Matured in oak at Wiese & Krohn's cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the Atlantic coast, under the control of the Port and Douro Wines Institute.

Grape Varieties - The traditional varieties of the Douro Region for red Ports (such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz) in unknown percentages.

Tasting Note - Nice tawny colour. Powerful aroma (dried fruits) showing maturity. Elegant, good finish.
