Winemakers Notes

Vineyard - This wine has come from grapes grown in the Haro anad Briones in Rioja Alta, Spain

Grape Varieties - Tempranillo 40%, Mazuelo 40% and Garciano 20%

Soil - Stony soil

Fermentation/maturation - Each variety is fermented separately in small tanks using natural yeast, after 20 days on the skins, the wine is getnly pressed and racked to stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. The wine is clear wine is then racked to 2nd and 3rd year American and Russian oak barrels for 24 months maturation before blending and bottling.

Tasting Notes

Hue -Intense red with violet hints

Nose -Fruit perfumes ripe red berries with oak, raisin and savoury aromas.

Palate -The palate has more red fruit, as well as spice and liquorice, which builds on the finish. Silky and ample on the palate.

Cellar - Still quite structured and capable of further aging for the next few years.

Serving Suggestions -Lamb and mint kebabs with pitta and hummous.
